Wander through the fascinating past of Uitenhage, one of the Eastern Cape’s most historical areas, and glimpse the roots of South Africa. The Drostdy, Cuyler Manor and Old Railway Station Museums relate a fascinating chronicle of the communities that called Uitenhage home before and after colonialism.
The Drostdy follows the historical development of Uitenhage and surrounding districts. It houses exhibitions of toys, porcelain, clothing and an archive library.
Cuyler Manor is a living farm museum, depicting the early lifestyle of the Eastern Cape folk.
At the Old Railway Station Museum, the Victorian lifestyle of the period is depicted with interesting items on display such as two steam locomotives from yesteryear.
